Research analyst by day, city influencer by night.
Sarah knows the trendiest restaurants to dine at, the hottest events to attend, and the best local shops to support. Her passion for her city runs deep, and her life passion is to share what’s new and exciting in her town with other Calgarians.
Can you tell us a little bit about your journey and how you got here today?
When I was little, I grew up in a small town in Alberta, about 300 people. As I got older, I went to school, College, and University, and worked my way up to bigger cities in the province until I finally ended up in Calgary. This was the BIG city to me, and when I got there, I thought to myself “I’ve arrived!” Being in Calgary meant that I got to explore a lot of new things I never got to experience in a small town. I was eating at cool restaurants, hanging out at trendy bars, and I got addicted to trying new things! With this new passion of mine, I decided I wanted to share it with others and inspire them to go out and try something new. It got me excited to think if I’m enjoying it, there must be other people that would enjoy it too, and I could create a platform to share these experiences with other people in the community. It’s all about spreading that love and promoting exciting events that others can go out and enjoy, just as I do!
What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Adventurous. Gritty. Social
What advice would you give yourself when you’re facing a difficult situation?
I think what I would tell my past self is to just take it one day at a time. Things that happen to us in life are most likely never as big of a deal as we think they are, and even if the worst-case scenario does happen, then honestly if you can try your best to move on and move past it, just remember that life DOES go on. My advice overall is don’t stress out in the moment, it will all be okay.
