Capturing the beauty of the world, one photograph at a time.
Jenn is no stranger to the world of photography. At a young age she discovered the art of bringing a photograph to life and has ever since been inspired by what she can capture. The world is beaming with new and unique hidden gems, and Jenn has set her sights on exploring them all.
Can you tell us a little bit about your journey and how you got here today?
I have always been in love with travel and photography for as long as I can remember. As a kid I used to love acquiring different cameras at thrift stores since we didn’t have a lot of money growing up. I loved twiddling with the settings and seeing how it would result in an image. But as a teenager, when I was probably 12 or 13, we got a computer, and over the years I started to teach myself a bunch of different things. I learned how to web code, HTML, PHP, and Photoshop. And when I was 16, I got a job at a photo studio. I saved up and bought myself my first ever digital camera. It was the Canon 20-d (I know, I am probably aging myself a bit here). After that I started working in the travel industry by coding websites and setting up their booking engine. I was a part of the travel industry, but in the back end doing tech, geeky sort of things. But through that job, I got to go on some really cool travel experiences. I just fell in love with seeing the world, and over the next couple of years, I found a way to combine my love for travel and photography. I feel extremely blessed and I couldn’t be happier at all. It is amazing to do this for a living.
What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
Ambitious. Compassionate. Geek!
What are some goals you have set for yourself?
I definitely consider myself a little bit of a hustler, so I have a lot of goals that I think about quite frequently for myself. From a business perspective I want to be the best I can in all my crafts. I want to be the best photographer. The best videographer. The best photo editor. The best travel blogger. The best search engine optimizer, web designer, all these things! And from a personal perspective, I just want to be a good person. I want to be compassionate. I want to see as much of the world as possible. I want to experience other cultures. I want to explore some of the hidden gems on this planet that not everyone gets to see. And I want to live as much outside of my comfort zone as possible. Because I think that when we are living outside of our comfort zone, we are experiencing life to the fullest.
